Sarah GoodaSarah has been involved in the performing arts from the age of 5, playing the recorder and performing in school plays. At 11 Sarah took up the flute, and throughout high school performed regularly with ensembles both within her school and with the local Music Centre, performing at a variety of public and civic functions including the visit of the Queen Mother to Dover, various receptions, and a tour of the Czech Republic.

Sarah continued her musical studies at university, adding saxophone to her skills and specialising in composition and musical theatre. During uni Sarah continued to perform with a number of ensembles in different styles, and she graduated with a 2:I in 2004.

Sarah worked for several years as a stage manager and technician before getting back into performing a couple of years ago, however she has always kept up her passion for music, performing with a number of community ensembles. During her studies and beyond she has performed in many musical genres both as a soloist and with a variety of ensembles including orchestras, wind bands, swing bands, choirs, folk groups and flute ensembles. She also has experience of studio work (including click track playing) and theatrical pit work.

As a composer, Sarah has written and performed / recorded musical scores for six theatre productions and a number of short films, getting her first commission when she was 18 years old. She has also written a full scale original musical (performed in 2004) and is half way through writing her second.

She has a particular passion for early music performance, and has played with several early music ensembles over the years, including giving performances at medieval banquets, Costmeston and Abbey medieval festivals, and at venues such as Dover and Laugharne Castles and Tintern Abbey. Now a Gold Coast resident, Sarah currently performs regularly with ‘The Court of Camelot’.

Sarah plays a number of early instruments, and is currently performing on recorders, percussion, voice and a 12 string harp. She also sings, plays basic piano and guitar, and is a songwriter. She has just finished recording a demo album of original songs and plans to record the album with a band this year. She is part of an acoustic piano / guitar / vocal duo which performs around Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
