Debbie Cooke Debbie’s musical talent was discovered at the age of three. She started playing piano by ear and piano lessons commenced at the age of six. Throughout Debbie's schooling, she had extensive technical training in piano and braille music. She also learnt singing and was part of the school choir. Debbie played prima donna roles in school operas. They included "Amahl" in which she played Amahl's mother; Narrator in "Samson and Delilah"; and "Orpheus and Euridices" in which she played Orpheus.
At sixteen years, Debbie performed in "Noah's Flood" produced by the "Junior State Opera Company" in which she was in the chorus. Performances took place during "The Festival of Arts" held in Adelaide bi-annually.
In addition, towards the end of that year, Debbie took part in an oratorio called "The Childhood of Christ" in which she sang in the chorus.
In 1990, Debbie obtained lessons in jazz singing in order to enhance her skills. Debbie sat the A.M.E.B. examinations up to Grade 7 on piano, and received A+ for each.
At seventeen, Debbie became a Yamaha enthusiast and took up organ lessons at the Yamaha Music School. She currently owns a Hammond XE1 organ.
Debbie composes a variety of music with an emphasis on film music, using a Built-in 16-track sequencer, giving her keyboard a rich and powerful sound. In addition, she has a wide repertoire of easy-listening music, which she performs when opportunities arise.
For three and a half years, Debbie was resident pianist at Cooma Motor Lodge, at the Gateway to the Snowy Mountains.
In 2001, Debbie joined the Melbourne Chorale, singing in many of the famous and lesser-known choral works.
