Dan Kerwin Real Audio Sample (723kbs) At the Toyota National Country Music Muster, Gympie 2001, singer/songwriter Dan Kerwin was awarded second place in the Country Rock Section with his original song “The Undertaker’s son”.
Dan released his debut album “Clarity” in July 2002 with ten original songs and has released four of these tracks on EP for distribution to radio stations. “The Undertaker’s Son” has been added to the play list on Toowoomba Country FM, Brisbane’s 4AAA as well as a number of community stations. It has been described as “ a well crafted and extremely well written song”.
Dan started writing at the age of sixteen, inspired by artists and groups such as Billy Joel, Dire Straits and Bon Jovi through to Garth Brooks, John Cougar and Steve Earl in more recent years.
At seventeen, he performed his first song in public at the launch of his mother Marie’s second album “Let Your Light Shine” in 1992. This was a highly successful performance for Dan and he soon directed all his time and energy into playing and listening to music.
Dan, now twenty-seven regularly works as a solo artist performing his own material, as well as a diverse selection of cover songs from Neil Young to Tim McGraw or Bryan Adams to Bruce Springsteen.
His unique style of delivering music as a solo Singer/Guitarist enables him to cater to his audience whether it be a rowdy public bar on Friday night, background music for a function or as subtle entertainment for relaxed diners.
