| Purple Patch Alternative Folk Rock Real AUdio Sample (572kbs) |
Purple
Patch comprises Chrystal and friends…
The music is often described as “dynamic and colourful”. It includes a wide range of influences, predominately Celtic, southern folk and jazz although it maintains a 2000 feel. The group plays many covers but specialise in self-written songs about life’s journey. Occasionally performing as a duo at smaller
venues, Purple Patch usually consists of up to five members, playing 1
- 4 forty-minute sets at larger venues and festivals.
Purple Patch receives regular invites to perform at venues including pubs and clubs, such as the Virginian, Fortitude Valley Brisbane, the Imperial Eumundi and many around Noosa. They play at many folk festivals including the Mother Earth Festival Sandgate, where they headlined on the 10th March 2002. Chrystal now lives in Noosa on the Sunshine
Coast Queensland, where she is recognised as a folk, blues and covers singer.
She has a soulful, spiritual voice, reminiscent of Janice Joplin that captures
each song while creating a haunting ambience to the music. Adding Grant
on congas or drums, other local musicians on guitars the band is complete
with Chrystal also on keyboard and Earl her faithful guide dog at her side.
