MUNDY-TURNER photography Suzon FuksInfluenced by a melting pot of musical styles - folk, pop, gospel, a cappella, rock, blues - acoustic roots, duo MUNDY-TURNER have steadily built a following and reputation as creators of an original and distinctive body of work.

Driving acoustic guitar, lyrical violin, soulful piano and subtle percussion supports powerful original songs, gorgeous vocals and soaring harmonies.  The duo are known for their deep commitment to issues of social justice, whilst always bringing a contagious sense of real fun and joy in life to their performances.

Singer-composer-musician Cath Mundy (ex-Sister Moon Ensemble) & UK singer-songwriter-guitarist Jay Turner formed the duo in Brisbane in late 1995.  They supported The Corrs during the pop group's Queensland tour in1997 and Rolf Harris in the UK 1999, won the Queensland Recording Association Sunnie Award for Best Folk/Ethnic Album 1999, and subsequently had several songs playlisted nationally by ABC Radio.

Cath & Jay currently spend up to 9 months each year touring in Australia and internationally to the UK, Canada, Hong Kong, and New Zealand, playing music venues, arts centres, theatres, folk clubs and house concerts as well as the stages of major festivals, such as Woodford & Port Fairy Folk Festivals in Australia, Cropredy Festival in the UK and the Hong Kong Folk Festival.

On their own Gypsy Records label, MUNDY-TURNER have released an EP recorded live at Sun Studios in Memphis, an interactive CD-Rom single, 3 full-length studio albums and a live album.  Their most recent cd release is "Crooked House" which was launched with a 25-date national tour of England in September-October 2002 to excellent reviews:
