Ella
Doneman is a young jazz singer and an announcer.
She built up her performing skills through
work with La Boite and Contact Youth Theatres in Brisbane, through participation
in two Queensland Youth Arts Festivals and under the guidance of jazz pianist
and composer Clare Hansson.
Following her debut with the ‘Jazz Birds’
at the Brisbane Jazz Club she performed in the 2000 and 2001 Brisbane Jazz
Festivals. Her announcing skills were tested at the 2001 and 2002 Disability
Access/Action Weeks at various venues including the Queen and Brunswick
Street malls and Brisbane City Hall.
Ella is currently a full time student at
Griffith University completing a Bachelor of Education in Special Education.
Ella continues to accept engagements at
retirement villages and parties when her studies permit. She is the disability
representative on the advisory committee for the Visible Ink Youth Festival
2003 (Brisbane City Council), and is part of the sub-committee coordinating
all performances in the Malls and parks. |
